Edited by Paul Elenio, the book is centred on the Cuccurullo family of Island Bay whose first generation sons established the Mediterranean Food Warehouse, a chain of stores that stock many of the foods their grandparents missed. The Cuccurullo family, like many families from Massa Lubrense, came out to Wellington in the 1930s. This is mainly a cookbook with 29 recipes described as rustic peasant food that links the cooks to their homeland.
