Website of the Club Italia Nelson. From the 1890s a chain migration from Southern Italy to Nelson, in particular to an area known as The Wood, where a strong community was established, centred around family and tomato gardens. These strong bonds of family values, hard work and co-operation lead in 1931 to the Club Italia being formed and registered.

From 1939 to 1945 the Club was forced to suspend its activities during the Second World War as advised by the Enemy Alien Office.

In the fifties Club Italia was able to purchase its Club rooms at 9 Trafalgar Street, converting the house to club-rooms where that still operates today.

Club Italia Nelson also has a FB page and an Instagram gallery.
